Teamwork English

M1/12 is up for a a special treat today. Why is that so? Well, they got the chance to have fun outdoor in their English class. Second of all, they all got some bonding moments with their classmates.

So what exactly is that bonding moment? See for yourself.

Wow! Such a lovely exercise for a fine day! But, what was the activity all about? Here is how: First, they need to work together to form certain stunts that the teacher asked them to follow. The fastest group to execute the task will get corresponding points.

To be honest, M1/12 did really enjoy the activity although, it is a bit hard to execute the task sometimes. It is another happy bonding experience for M1/12!

Spectrum of Light

Let’s see M2/12’s work on D.I.Y. rainbow experiment.

What did they do?

First, is to set up all their materials. Then present their objectives and procedure.

The highlight is for their group to see and capture either primary or secondary 🌈 rainbows like the pictures below.

Sem2 Starters

M1/12 Back to Science Work. Today’s experiment is all about “D.I.Y. Layers of the Atmosphere”.

What should students do?

Just gather reuse materials that can be used in creating a model or diorama of the 5 Layers of the Atmosphere.

How did the experiment go?

It was successful. All groups made it on time.

What do you think of the experiment?

It’s good help for students to memorize and have a strong hands-on experience about the 5 Layers of the Atmosphere.

Science Quiz Bee Year 3

SCIENCE QUIZ BEE Y3 WINNERS

Science Quiz Bee: One of the observed activities of MEP students in celebration of the  Science Week Celebration. And this is Year 3 of the above-mentioned MEP academic activity.

In total, we have 34 teams competing in the bee, a number higher than the previous. Each team had 3 members from M1/12, M2/12 and M3/12 respectively.

The quiz proper were composed of 4 rounds with 10 questions. All teams competed for all the rounds. Scores were then accumulated in every rounds. First three teams with the highest points were declared winners.

Science M2/12: Separation Technique

M2/12 experimented on different separation techniques; Magnet Attraction and D.I.Y. Water Filtration.

For filtration technique, students tried on using a simple do it yourself technique of filtering cloudy and muddy water. With the use of simple and easy to find materials; gavel, sand, pebbles, charcoal, white cloth, filter paper and re-use plastic bottles. As a result they were able to produce different color filtrates, some are very clear and others remained cloudy.

 

As for magnet attraction, all groups used U-magnet but of several materials  used on demonstrating the technique some used  mix of sand and paper clips whilst others used  styrofoam balls and clips.

The Flower Experiment

M1/12 Science groups conducted the flower experiment on understanding and identifying the parts of a flower. In fact, it is one of the most interesting experiments that every M1/12 students must do.

Each group brought with them their own pick of flowers, laid it on the table for all members to study and get familiar with.

Students were occupied on dissecting the flowers’ parts and prepared to tape it on their notebook as an illustration and properly labelled.

AS to finishing the experiment, students made a table on their notebook listing the identified parts as well as writing their specific functions.
